& related events
📍 Porto, Portugal
📅 9 - 13 September 2024
The Plenaries
The bi-annual ECBC Plenary meeting is the covered bond industry’s key networking event, traditionally bringing together more than 300 key decision makers including issuers, investors, government and regulatory officials at national, European and global levels, analysts, rating agencies and journalists from over 45 covered bond jurisdictions.
The ECBC Plenaries have a long history of being the get-together of the global covered bond community where the latest matters of interest are discussed. This forthcoming meeting in Porto marks the 35th edition of our event.

This, the third event organised under the banner of the EMF-ECBC Academy, will focus on the current status of the Capital Markets Union initiative in the European Union (EU) and, in particular, the impacts that the debates on Basel III, Valuation, ESG considerations and Sustainable Finance more broadly are having on developments here. The upcoming Plenary Meeting offers an ideal opportunity to help extend the knowledge base on and understanding of the key aims, challenges and opportunities relating to the Capital Markets Union project in this moment of strategic renewal for the European Union. This session will also seek to ensure that the role that private finance can play here – such as that raised through Europe’s mortgage credit and covered bond markets – is fully recognised by all stakeholders, along with the potential barriers to the realisation of this potential.
See the Provisonal Programme & Agenda (above) for more details on the proposed lineup of speakers at this event.
The EMF-ECBC Academy Training & Market Update is now fully subscribed. You will be redirected to a waiting list.*
